주말마다 국내 여행 중
서울을 벗어나는 고속도로.
청명해 보이는 하늘.
그러나 실상은 찜통 무더위다.
🏞️ We’ve been doing mini domestic trips every weekend lately.
This time, we hit the highway out of Seoul—
Blue skies above, though the air was thick with summer heat.
It looked cool and crisp, but trust me, it was boiling.
빵 뚫린 고속도로.
금요일 4시경인데 아직은 막히지 않는다.
🚗 Surprisingly, the highway was clear around 4 p.m. on Friday.
A rare moment of smooth traffic in Korea.
강원도로 접어드니 숲. 또 숲.
한국은 국토의 70%가 숲.
어디를 가나 울창한 숲이 있다.
🌲 Once we crossed into Gangwon-do, it was forest after forest.
Did you know 70% of Korea is covered in mountains and trees?
No matter where you go, there’s always lush green around you.
그런데 산 모양이 험악하지 않고 둥글둥글 정겹다.
한국화 속 절경 같은 장소가 정말 많다.
연신 감탄하며 보고 또 보았다.
⛰️ The mountains here aren’t sharp and dramatic like in some countries.
They’re round, friendly, and oddly comforting—
Like they stepped out of a Korean landscape painting.
We couldn’t stop admiring the views.
드디어 도착한 우리의 목적지.
삼봉자연휴양림.
구글 지도에서 가장 시원한 계곡을 찾았더니 여기랜다.
공대 출신 남편의 계곡 찾는 법 ㅎㅎ
그래서 그런지 정말 도착하자마자 서늘한 기운.
하나도 안 덥다.
🌿 Our destination? Sambong Natural Recreation Forest.
According to my engineer husband (who trusts Google Maps over intuition),
this spot was said to have the coolest stream in the area.
And wow—he was right.
The moment we arrived, the air felt instantly cooler. Not hot at all!
텐트를 치기 전에 일단 매표소에 가서 신고하기.
알아서 혼자 잘 하는 착한 남편 ㅋ
차 안에 앉아 주변 경치나 감상 중인 나. 그리고 딸.
🧾 Before setting up camp, my husband went to register at the ticket office.
He’s the type who just quietly handles everything on his own.
Meanwhile, my daughter and I stayed in the car, soaking in the forest views.
우리 자리다.
딱 하나 남은 것을 예약했다고 한다.
주차료는 없고 데크 자리는 1만6천원 정도 였던 듯.
이것도 남편이 결제해서 정확히는 모른다.
울 집은 여행갈 때 남편이 알아서 하는 편임.
나랑 딸은 넋놓고 따라 간다. ㅎㅎㅎ
⛺ Apparently, we got the very last deck spot!
No parking fee. The camping deck cost around 16,000 won (I think).
I wouldn’t know—he paid for it.
That’s kind of how it goes on our trips:

텐트 치자 마자 고기 굽기.
이것도 남편이 ㅎㅎ
난 좀 거드는 시늉을 했다.
고기는 구워지고 난 맥주 한 캔을 먼저 딴다. 캬 좋구나.
🔥 As soon as the tent went up, so did the grill.
My husband handled the cooking (again).
I tried to look helpful…
but mostly, I opened a can of beer and chilled.
Nothing beats that first sip in the woods.
지글지글 익어가는 삽겹살.
캠핑에서는 삽겹살이 진리지.
🥓 Sizzling pork belly on the grill = Korean camping classic.
울집에는 웨버 바베큐 그릴이 두 개 있는데.
큰 거 하나 작은 거 하나.
큰 건 너무 커서 주로 작은 것을 들고 다닌다.
세 식구 쓰기에 딱 좋다.
We have two Weber grills at home—a big one and a small one.
For trips like this, we bring the smaller one.
Perfect for a family of three.
수돗가에 갔다가 물에 빠져서 허우적대는 나비 발견.
딸램과 호들갑 떨며 구해줬다.
뿌듯.
🦋 Later, at the water spout, we found a butterfly struggling in the water.
My daughter and I got all dramatic and rescued it.
We were proud of ourselves.
어른 손바닥만큼 컸다.
수돗가 근처 암벽위에 앉은 나비.
캐머플라지 라고 딸램이 큰 소리. ㅎㅎ
그래 잘 위장된 것 같다. 더 위험에 빠질 일은 없겠다 하고 안심.
It was the size of an adult palm—huge!
My daughter yelled, “Camouflage!”
She wasn’t wrong. That little guy blended right into the rock.
계곡.
와. 진짜. 차다.
20초 이상 발 담그기 어렵다더니 진짜 그랬다.
처음에 들어갔을 때 화들짝 놀람.
수영을 원했다면 여긴 비추다. 절대 수영 못함. 그냥 발 좀 담그기.
💧 The stream? Freezing.
People say you can’t last more than 20 seconds with your feet in it,
and now I believe them.
Forget swimming—this is more of a “dip your toes and scream” kind of spot.
계곡 주변 작은 폭포.
어디를 둘러봐도 시원하고 싱그럽다.
🌊 But it was beautiful.
Everywhere you turned: cool, clean, and green.
근처 삼봉 약수터.
계곡에서 차로 5분쯤 가면 나온다. 걷는다면 2키로 정도.
너무 더운 날이라 차를 탔다.
💦 Nearby was Sambong Mineral Spring.
It’s about a 5-minute drive (or 2km walk) from the campsite.
We drove. Because summer.
아담한 약수터.
한국 산에는 약수터가 있어서 좋다.
💦 It was small, quiet, and lovely.
Korean mountains often have mineral springs—
a refreshing bonus after a hike or a hot day.
소원을 비는 돌탑
이것도 어디가나 있다.
돌을 하나씩 쌓으며 소원을 빈다.
수많은 돌들. 수많은 소원들.
모두 잘 이루어지길.
🪨 And of course, the wish stones.
You stack a rock and make a wish.
So many stones. So many wishes.
I hope at least some of them come true.
약수터 초입에 있던 멋진 나무.
그리고 가을 하늘 같은 푸르른 하늘.
휴양을 하기에는 좋았다.
🌳 At the entrance to the spring, there was a beautiful old tree,
framed by a sky so blue it looked like fall.
It really was the perfect place to unwind.
너무 차가운 계곡물이라 수영은 하지 못했다.
하지만 고기를 잡고. 도룡뇽도 잡았다.
너무 귀여웠다. 물이 정말 맑았다.
🦎 The stream was too cold to swim, but we did catch a fish and even a salamander!
So cute.
They were adorably tiny.
And the water was crystal clear.
도룡뇽이 이렇게 생겼구나.
귀엽다.
물이 정말 깨끗했다.
잠시 뒤에 모두 풀어 주었다.
또 잡히지 말고 잘 살려무나.
🦎 So this is what a salamander looks like.
Adorable.
The water was incredibly clear.
We let them all go after a little while.
Hope they stay safe out there—and don’t get caught again!
올라오는 길에 근처 맛집에 들렀다.
막국수. 수육. 감자전.
어디나 다 비슷한 메뉴.
여긴 대기줄이 어마어마했는데 다행히 오래 기다리진 않았다.
🍜 On our way back to Seoul, we stopped by a famous local restaurant.
Makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles), boiled pork, and potato pancakes—
Classic Gangwon-do fare.
The line was long but moved fast, thankfully.
막국수 식당의 뒷뜰.
주인장이 꽃을 열심히 가꾸는 분이신가 봄.
🌸 Behind the restaurant was a little garden.
Looks like the owner really loves their flowers.
올라오는 길에 계곡을 하나 더 들렀다.
수영을 못한 것이 못내 아쉬워서 수영을 할 만한 곳으로.
아침가리계곡이었다.
노느라 사진도 없네.
두어 시간쯤 수영을 하고 상경.
🏞️ Before heading back home, we stopped by one more stream.
We couldn’t resist.
This time, we found a spot where you could actually swim—
Achimgari Valley.
We swam for a couple of hours. No photos—we were too busy having fun.
1박 2일 짧지만 알차고 편안한 여행.
🚙 A short 2-day, 1-night trip—
but it was refreshing, relaxing, and just what we needed.
