소녀들은 붕대를 두른 채 아파트로 돌아와 창밖을 내다본다. 도시 곳곳에 분홍빛이 번쩍인다.
Rumi: How do we go from gold to this?
루미: 황금빛이던 도시가 어쩌다 이렇게 됐지?
Zoey: Look at all the weak spots. We've never seen the Honmoon like this before.
조이: 약한 지점들이 저렇게 많아. 혼문이 이런 모습인 건 처음 봐.
Rumi: Gwi-Ma must know we're so close to sealing it for good.
루미: 귀마가 우리가 혼문을 완전히 봉인하기 직전이라는 걸 눈치챘나 봐.
Mira: So he sends a demon boy band?
미라: 그래서 악마 보이 밴드를 보낸 거야?
Rumi: Well, it's working.
루미: 뭐, 효과는 확실하네.
Zoey: Don't worry. I'm sure "Soda Pop" is just a fad. These boys will be old news by next week. You'll see.
조이: 걱정 마. “소다 팝”은 잠깐 반짝하는 유행일 뿐이야. 다음 주쯤이면 애들도 잊혀질 걸. 두고 봐.
걱정하는 멤버들에게 바비가 나타남
Bobby: (offscreen) Girls?
보비: (밖에서) 얘들아?
[The girls quickly clean themselves up, covering their wounds.]
소녀들은 황급히 몸을 정리하며 상처를 가린다.
Girls: Hi, Bobby!

보비: 생각보다 심각해. 사자 보이즈가 예능 방송 이후로 완전히 바이럴됐어. 이제 팬덤까지 생겼다고.

미라: 어깨 좀 멈춰!

조이: 와, 중독성 장난 아니다.
Bobby: Yeah, you're right, Zoey. They're amazing, but they suck. I'm sorry.
I've been glued to this tiny screen for hours. I just need to look away and... Woo!

보비: 그러게, 조이 말 맞아. 멋지긴 한데 진짜 짜증 나. 미안. 몇 시간째 이 화면에 붙잡혀 있었어.
그냥 눈 좀 돌리고… 후! 진정하자, 보비. 이건 그냥 SNS 숫자일 뿐이야. 세상이 끝난 것도 아니잖아.
Rumi: This is the battle for hearts and minds.
A battle for the fans. And what's the biggest battlefield of them all?

루미: 맞아. 그 무대를 완전히 압도해야 해. 사자 보이즈를 끝장낼 최고의 공연을 준비하자. 조이, 새 노래가 필요해.
Zoey: I got 23 notebooks full of demon insults ready to go.
조이: 악마 욕으로 꽉 찬 노트북이 23권이나 있어. 준비 완료야.
Bobby: Yeah! Let's make it 30 notebooks.

Rumi: Mira, the choreography?
루미: 미라, 안무는?
Mira: Yep, making them hotter.
미라: 응, 더 화끈하게 만들고 있어.
Bobby: Backup dancers, ready to go.
보비: 백업 댄서들도 준비 완료.
Rumi: We'll write a brand-new song. A diss track to expose the Saja Boys.
루미: 완전히 새로운 곡을 쓰자. 사자 보이즈의 정체를 폭로할 디스 트랙이야.
Zoey: And send those disgusting demons back to the depths where they belong!
조이: 그리고 그 역겨운 악마들을 제자리, 지옥으로 되돌려 보내자!
Mira: YEAH!
미라: 그래!
Zoey: YEAH!
조이: 그래!!
Mira: YEAHHHHH!

[The two stopped making battle cries when Rumi stared at them.]
루미가 그들을 노려보자 둘은 함성을 멈춘다.
Rumi: (then) YEAHHH!
루미: (잠시 후) 이야아아!!
HUNTR/X: YEAAAAAAAHHH!!!!
이야아아아아!!!!
Zoey: We're gonna kick their butts!
조이: 우리가 그 녀석들 엉덩이를 걷어차 줄 거야!
Bobby: That's my girls! Not sure about this whole demon thing.
They seem nice, but loving the energy!
보비: 그래야 우리 헌트릭스지! 악마 얘긴 좀 모르겠지만… 에너지는 진짜 최고야!
혼자 생각에 잠긴 루미
[Rumi had returned to her room to take the medicine.]
루미는 약을 먹기 위해 방으로 돌아간다.
Rumi: Okay, tonics. Let's do this. What?
루미: 좋아, 강장제야. 해보자. 뭐지?
[Rumi notices something stuck to the medicine. It was a grape juice sample.]
루미는 약병에 붙은 포도주스 샘플을 발견한다.
Rumi: Zoey.
루미: 조이….
Jinu: A Hunter who's part demon?
진우: 악마의 피가 섞인 헌터라….
[Recalling the memory, Rumi wondered why Jinu saw her as a demon. As she looked at the bottle, she noticed something outside.]
루미는 진우가 왜 자신을 악마로 본 건지 떠올리며 병을 바라보다, 창밖에서 이상한 움직임을 본다.
더피와 서씨가 나타나는 장면
Rumi: Is that a bird wearing a tiny hat?
루미: 저 새… 모자 쓴 거야?
[She looked and saw that it was a Yokai crow.]
그녀는 그것이 요괴 까마귀라는 걸 알아챈다.
Rumi: What?
루미: 뭐야?
[She followed it and saw something in the bushes. It was a blue tiger. It approached her, only to knock on a flower pot.]
그녀는 까마귀를 따라가다 덤불 속에서 푸른 호랑이를 발견한다. 호랑이는 다가오더니 화분을 ‘툭’ 건드린다.
Rumi: No. No, really. It's okay. Just leave it. What are you?
루미: 아니, 괜찮아. 정말 괜찮다고. 그냥 놔둬. 넌 뭐야?
[The tiger opened its mouth and a card fell out.]
호랑이가 입을 벌리자 카드 한 장이 떨어진다.
Rumi: (reads) "Hello, friend."
루미: (읽으며) “안녕, 친구야.”
(opens it and reads note in Korean)
(편지를 열고 한국어로 쓰인 글을 읽는다.)
Rumi: Jinu? Ji... Jinu? Oh! Meet you? I'm not gonna meet you. Who do you think you...
루미: 진우? 지... 진우? 뭐? 만나자고? 내가 왜 널 만나야 해? 넌 도대체…
[The bird flies by and perches on the tiger's head as they disappear before reappearing on the streets below.]
그때 새가 날아와 호랑이 머리에 앉더니, 둘은 사라졌다가 거리 아래에 다시 나타난다.
Rumi: Okay, Jinu. Let's meet.
루미: 좋아, 진우. 만나주지 뭐.

지붕 위에서 진우와 조우한 루미
[Rumi followed the tiger and noticed a figure. She leaps onto the roof, summoned her scythe and charged.]
루미는 호랑이를 따라가다 한 인물을 발견한다. 그녀는 옥상으로 뛰어올라 낫을 소환하고 돌진한다.
[She swings, cutting off the head, only to find out it's just a mannequin.]
그녀가 낫을 휘둘러 머리를 잘라내자, 그것이 마네킹임을 깨닫는다.
Rumi: What?
루미: 뭐야?
Jinu: Wow. I wasn't expecting a hug, but...
진우: 와, 포옹까지는 바라지 않았는데….
(Rumi points her sword at him)
(루미가 칼을 겨눈다)
Jinu: Jeez, okay, okay. Calm down. I thought the mannequin was gonna be a fun icebreaker. But I see I was wrong.
진우: 젠장, 알겠어 알겠어. 진정해. 마네킹으로 분위기 좀 풀어보려 했는데… 실수였네.
(dodges her sword swings)
(그녀의 공격을 피한다)
Jinu: Whoa! Hey! I just wanna talk.
진우: 잠깐! 대화 좀 하자고!
Rumi: Talk?
루미: 대화?
Jinu: About your patterns? But first, I wanna talk about those pants.
진우: 네 문양 말이야. 근데 그전에… 그 바지 좀 얘기해도 돼?
Rumi: Hm? (looks down at her pajamas)
루미: 응? (자신의 잠옷을 내려다본다)
Jinu: Teddy bears and choo-choo trains? Really? Choo-choo.
진우: 곰돌이에 기차무늬라고? 진짜? 칙칙폭폭~.
[Annoyed, she swings her sword, but Jinu disappears.]
화가 난 루미가 칼을 휘두르지만 진우는 사라진다.
Rumi: You were supposed to be dead by now!
루미: 넌 이미 죽었어야 했잖아!
Jinu: Whoa. Hey! I could've told your friends what you are. But I didn't, did I?
Because they don't know.
Ah, I did guess right. A demon girl. Also Hunter.
Hiding, walking around free in the human world.
진우: 진정해! 너의 정체를 네 친구들에게 말할 수도 있었지만 안 했잖아. 왜냐면 걔들은 모르니까. 맞췄지? 악마이자 헌터인 소녀. 인간 세상에서 숨어 다니는 존재.
Rumi: Just Hunter, not demon.
루미: 헌터일 뿐이야. 악마는 아냐.
Jinu: Then how'd you get the patterns?
진우: 그럼 그 문양은 어떻게 생긴 거지?
Rumi: That's none of your business.
루미: 네가 알 바 아냐.
Jinu: Huh. I know what it feels like to have them.
진우: 흠. 그걸 가진 기분이 어떤지 알아.
Rumi: Feel? You're a demon. Demons don't feel anything.
루미: 기분? 넌 악마잖아. 악마는 아무것도 못 느껴.
Jinu: Is that what you think? That's all demons do. Feel. Feel our shame, our misery. It's how Gwi-Ma controls us. Do you not hear him in your ear?
진우: 그렇게 생각해? 악마는 ‘느끼는 존재’야. 수치와 고통을 느끼지. 그게 귀마가 우리를 지배하는 방식이야. 넌 그의 목소리가 들리지 않나?
Rumi: What are you talking about?
루미: 무슨 소리야?
진우의 회상씬
Jinu: Huh. You're lucky. I'll never forget the first time I heard him. That was 400 years ago.
진우: 흥, 넌 운이 좋다. 내가 그 녀석의 목소리를 처음 들은 건… 지금으로부터 400년 전이었지.
[His memory plays — a faint echo of traditional Korean instruments fades in as the scene transitions.]
그의 기억이 펼쳐지며 전통 악기 소리가 희미하게 들려온다.
Jinu (narrating): My family was extremely poor and miserable. I had a single possession to my name. An old bipa.
진우 (내레이션): 우리 가족은 극도로 가난했고 비참했지. 내게 남은 건 단 하나, 낡은 비파뿐이었어.
Jinu: So I busked the streets, but it didn't get me anywhere. I was desperate. We were starving. Then, I heard him.
진우: 그래서 거리에서 비파를 연주했지만 아무 소용이 없었어. 절박했지. 배고픔에 시달리던 어느 날, 그 녀석의 목소리가 들렸어.
Gwi-Ma (echoing): You can't do anything for your family. You're not good enough for them. But I can help you be good enough.
귀마 (메아리처럼): 넌 가족에게 아무것도 해줄 수 없어. 그들에게 부족한 존재야. 하지만… 내가 널 충분히 만들어줄 수 있지.
[The sound of whispers fills the scene, and Jinu’s eyes start glowing faintly purple.]
속삭임이 가득 차오르고, 진우의 눈이 희미한 보랏빛으로 빛난다.
Jinu: Overnight, my fate was changed.
I was praised for my voice. Even by the king himself.
진우: 단 하룻밤 사이, 내 운명이 뒤바뀌었지. 내 노래는 칭송받았고, 왕조차도 내 목소리를 칭찬했어.

화려한 궁궐과 웃고 있는 신하들, 비파를 연주하는 진우의 모습이 교차한다.
Jinu: My family and I lived on the palace grounds.
Our bellies were finally full, our clothes clean. We were happy.
진우: 우리 가족은 궁 안에서 살게 됐어. 배가 부르고, 옷도 깨끗했지. 모두가 행복했어.
Jinu: But the patterns… they kept spreading until they consumed me.
And I was condemned to the demon world.
Prisoner of Gwi-Ma for all eternity.
진우: 하지만 그 문양들은 점점 번졌고 결국 나를 집어삼켰지. 그리고 나는 귀마의 세계로 끌려가… 영원한 포로가 되었어.
[A dark transition shows Jinu chained, surrounded by purple flames.]
장면이 어두워지며 진우가 보랏빛 불꽃 속에서 사슬에 묶인 모습이 보인다.
Jinu: My family lost everything.
And without me, they were even worse off than before.
Every day since, I've been haunted by the memory of failing them.
진우: 가족은 모든 걸 잃었고, 나 없이 그들의 삶은 더 비참해졌어. 그날 이후 매일, 난 그들을 지켜주지 못한 기억에 시달리고 있지.
Gwi-Ma (whispering): You left them. Left them behind. Failed them.
귀마 (속삭이며): 넌 그들을 버렸지. 뒤에 두고 떠났지. 실패했어.
[Jinu clutches his arms, revealing the black marks glowing faintly.]
진우는 팔을 움켜쥔다. 문양이 희미하게 빛난다.
Jinu: These are a constant reminder of my shame. A shame I can never escape.
진우: 이 문양들은 내 수치의 상징이야. 결코 벗어날 수 없는 굴레지.
[He looks at Rumi, stepping closer.]
그는 루미를 바라보며 천천히 다가선다.
Jinu: Yours are a reminder, too.

진우: 네 문양도 마찬가지야. 네가 짊어진 어떤 수치의 흔적이지.
Rumi: You don't know me.
루미: 넌 나를 몰라.
Jinu: You know you can tell me.
I'll understand. I'm the only one who can.
진우: 넌 나에게 말해도 돼. 이해할 수 있어. 나만이 널 이해할 수 있어.
Rumi: (points her weapon) I'm nothing like you.
루미: (무기를 겨누며) 난 너랑 달라.
Jinu: Denial. I get it. I was once there too.
I'll be here when you're done pretending. Until next time.
진우: 부정하지. 이해해. 나도 그랬으니까. 하지만 가면을 벗게 되면, 난 여기 있을 거야. 다음에 또 보자.
Rumi: There won't be a next time!
루미: 다음은 없어!
[But Jinu disappears into a swirl of dark smoke, leaving only the faint echo of his laugh.]
하지만 진우는 어두운 연기 속으로 사라지고, 그의 웃음소리만이 잔잔히 메아리친다.
