📖 Full Story (줄거리)

Once upon a time in a mountain village, a fierce tiger was hungry and decided to sneak down to the village to find food. He crept up to a house and peeked through the window. Inside, a baby was crying loudly, and the mother was trying to calm the baby down.
The tiger thought, “That baby sounds loud and scary! But the mom doesn’t seem worried. I wonder what she’ll use to stop the baby from crying?”
The mother tried saying, “A tiger will come get you if you don’t stop crying!” But the baby kept crying. Then she said, “Look, here comes the dried persimmon!” At once, the baby stopped crying.
The tiger, watching from outside, became terrified. “What?! The baby stopped crying when it heard about the dried persimmon, not me, the tiger?! That must be something scarier than I am!”
Just then, a thief sneaking into the house saw the tiger in the dark and mistook it for a cow. He jumped on its back to steal it. The tiger, thinking the dried persimmon monster had caught him, ran for his life with the thief clinging to his back.
▶ Korean Storyline (한국어 줄거리)
옛날 산속에 사는 배고픈 호랑이가 먹이를 찾으러 마을로 내려왔어요. 마침 아기 울음소리가 들려오는 집이 보여, 조심히 창문 너머로 들여다보았지요.
집 안에서는 아기가 울고 있었고, 엄마가 달래고 있었어요. 호랑이는 “아기 울음소리가 저렇게 크다니, 무서운 아긴가 보다. 그런데 엄마는 겁도 안 나네?”라고 생각했어요.
엄마는 아기에게 “호랑이가 온다!”라고 했지만 아기는 계속 울었어요. 그런데 “곶감 먹자~”라고 하자, 아기는 울음을 뚝 그쳤어요.
호랑이는 깜짝 놀랐어요. “헉! 나 호랑이는 무섭지도 않은가 봐. 그런데 곶감 소리에 울음을 멈추다니, 곶감이 나보다 무서운가 봐!”
그 순간, 도둑 한 명이 집에 몰래 들어오다 어둠 속 호랑이를 소로 착각하고 등에 올라탔어요. 호랑이는 곶감 괴물이 자신을 잡은 줄 알고 놀라서 도망쳤고, 도둑은 호랑이 등에 매달린 채 달려갔답니다.
